(Chicago) Family-Pac Federal, Illinois’s largest conservative pro-family political action arm today announced its support for State Senator Kyle McCarter in the Republican primary for Congress in the 15th district.
Paul Caprio, Director, said, “Kyle McCarter is a proven conservative and his record in the Illinois Senate for many years proves it. Kyle McCarter went to Springfield and didn’t forget the conservative families of Southern Illinois but rather stood up for their values time after time. He made promises and kept them and we know that he will do the same thing in Washington if elected to the U.S. Congress.”
Unfortunately, the incumbent, Congressman John Shimkus has not kept his promises to the people of the 15th district. When Shimkus first ran, he promised that he would term limit himself and he has broken that promise many times to his voters while becoming a professional politician who simply goes along and gets along with the out of step GOP leadership led by John Boehner and now Paul Ryan.
Caprio continued, “The recent vote by Congressman John Shimkus for the budget busting Omnibus Appropriations Bill of 2015 which will increase federal spending by $130 billion in the next two years was an insult to every conservative in his district who had previously supported him.” The bill which was opposed by Illinois conservative Congressmen Randy Hultgren and Darin LaHood also included the following:
- Increased funding for Planned Parenthood.
- Increased funding for the IRS, which has spent the last 7 years targeting conservative organizations and hardworking taxpayers.
- No restrictions on Sanctuary Cities to stop illegal immigration.
- No restrictions on amnesty by executive fiat.
- No restrictions on EPA’s Water of the U.S. rule.
The vote by Shimkus was a total surrender to Harry Reid and President Obama on domestic spending. We salute the 96 House Republicans who stood up against this budget busting bill and did not go along blindly with House Republican leadership in supporting the bill which will further jeopardize the financial future of our Country.
Kyle McCarter has stood up for pro-life, the Second Amendment, fiscal conservatism, our veterans, small businesses, and farmers in Springfield. We can count on him to do so again if elected to Congress. Kyle is a Christian, small business owner, married to Victoria, and the couple has two sons. He has been recently endorsed by the Club for Growth.
Family Pac Federal has raised nearly $800,000 since 2010 to support conservative candidates for the U.S. Senate and the U.S. House, including Senator Ted Cruz, Senator Rand Paul, Senator Marco Rubio, Senator Tom Coburn, Senator Jim DeMint, Senator Mike Lee, and others in its efforts to restore conservative constitutional government to our County.
